Referral programme terms
Effective 8 September 2026 · Last updated 8 September 2026
Who can join
Any Colecta account holder with a connected Instagram Professional account. There is no application and no follower minimum. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must be the genuine owner of the account you post from.
One programme account per person. Operating multiple affiliate accounts to reach a higher rate band is grounds for termination and forfeiture.
What you earn
A one-time commission on the first billing period of each creator who subscribes through your link. It is not recurring: renewals earn nothing further.
The rate is 30% of net revenue for your first five conversions, 35% for conversions six through twenty, and 40% from your twenty-first onwards. A new rate applies only to conversions recorded after you cross the threshold; earlier commissions are not repriced.
Net revenue means what reaches Colecta after payment processing fees, app store commission where the subscription was bought through the App Store or Play Store, and applicable taxes. It is not the price on the pricing page.
Because the commission covers the whole first billing period, an annual subscription pays roughly eight times a monthly one. This is deliberate and is not an error.
What the person you refer gets
A creator who signs up through your link, or who enters your code at signup, gets 30 days of live sync free instead of the standard 14. It is applied to their account at signup and there is nothing for them to redeem later.
Their price after the free window is the same as everyone else's. Your commission is paid out of Colecta's revenue, not by charging them more.
The extra days apply only to a new account beginning its free window. Someone who has already used their free window, who has already been credited to another affiliate, or who is already subscribed gets nothing further, and no commission is earned on them.
A code can be entered only during signup, and only once. There is no way to apply one to an existing account, by design.
Qualifying
Before any commission becomes payable you must publish two posts that mention Colecta: one carousel and one Reel, from the Instagram account connected to your Colecta account.
We detect them automatically by reading the captions on your synced posts, then a person reviews them. Verification is a snapshot: once verified you remain verified, and deleting or archiving the posts afterwards changes nothing.
Commissions accrue from the day you join, before qualification. They are simply not payable until both posts are verified.
When both posts verify we add one free month of Colecta to your account. This is a single benefit for joining, granted once, not per referral.
Disclosure obligation
Both qualifying posts, and any subsequent post promoting Colecta, must be identified as paid promotion — Instagram's paid partnership label, or a clear tag such as #ad in the caption.
This is required by the ASCI guidelines in India and the FTC endorsement guides in the United States, and by equivalent rules elsewhere. It is your legal obligation, not ours, and we check for it during review.
A post without disclosure fails review. You may edit the caption and be re-detected; you do not need to repost.
Attribution
A conversion is attributed to the last Colecta referral link clicked within 30 days before the subscription starts. Clicks are recorded against a first-party cookie.
Self-referral does not count: a subscription bought on an account you control, or by a second account of your own, earns nothing.
Where two affiliates could claim the same conversion, the later click wins. We do not split commissions.
Holding period and reversals
A commission is Pending until the payment settles with our processor. It then moves to Held for 30 days, which covers the refund window.
If the referred creator is refunded or charges back inside that window, the commission is reversed and deducted from your balance. Reversals do not count against your conversion total and do not change your rate band.
If a reversal occurs after a commission has already been paid to you, we deduct it from your next payout rather than asking you to return funds.
Payouts
Commissions accrue in the currency of the sale and are converted at payout using the rate on the day the run executes.
Payouts require a minimum balance of $50 or ₹2,000. A balance below the minimum rolls into the next run; it is never forfeited for being small.
You must supply valid payout details before your first payout: UPI or bank transfer against a PAN in India, PayPal or Wise elsewhere. Where local tax law requires withholding or a tax identifier, we withhold or collect it as required.
Payout runs execute monthly. We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect details you supplied, or by your payment provider.
Holds and suspension
We may pause payouts on an account while we investigate signals of manufactured conversions — clusters of sign-ups from one device, accounts created and subscribed within minutes, or subscriptions that refund at an abnormal rate.
During a hold your link continues to work and conversions continue to record. Nothing new becomes payable, and any balance already payable is unaffected.
We tell you the reason for a hold and you can respond. If we find no problem, the hold is lifted and the balance becomes payable.
Termination
You may leave the programme at any time. Commissions already payable are still paid; commissions still Held are paid if they clear their window.
We may terminate your participation for fraudulent or manufactured conversions, for promoting Colecta with claims we have not made, for undisclosed paid promotion after being asked to correct it, or for a material breach of the Colecta terms of service.
Termination for fraud forfeits any unpaid balance. Termination for any other reason does not.
We may change the rates, bands, holding period or minimum threshold with 30 days' notice by email. Changes apply to conversions recorded after they take effect, never retroactively.
What this is not
The programme does not make you an employee, agent, partner or franchisee of Colecta. You have no authority to make commitments on our behalf or to describe features we have not shipped.
Questions about the programme
Write to referrals@colecta.ai. For a dispute about a specific commission, include the referred handle and the date — we can trace any commission back to the click that created it.
